Intek Plastics Expands Plant Capacity and Capabilities to Meet Current Demands and Prepare for Future Growth

HASTINGS, Minn., July  13, 2014 – Intek Plastics, Inc., a premiere plastics extruder providing high quality, precisely engineered, customer-specific products, is investing more than $1 million into additional extrusion lines for its Hastings, Minn., facility. The expansion allows the company to keep pace with recent growth and to position it well as it expands into new markets. With the new lines, the company will increase its capacity by 17 percent.

“The expansion helps us support our customers in our core markets – construction, refrigeration, lighting and industrial OEMs – and the growth they are experiencing,” said Intek President Mike Kinning. “We experienced a significant growth in production in the second half of 2013 and anticipate that to continue into the foreseeable future. The expansion helps us keep pace with that growth while giving us capacity to support our strategic plan to develop new markets.”
